Kingdom Dough
Kimberly and Jeremy Powers are partners in Kingdom Dough, a bakery established in 2020 that specializes in making donuts, apple fritters, croissants and kolaches.
They credit their success to prayer, putting personal problems aside, and being able to attend family and community events that they otherwise would not have been able to with an 8-5 job.
How It Started
Kimberly: It has always been a dream of ours to have our own business. We watched our space become available many times, and we finally took a leap of faith in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic.
How It’s Going
Kimberly: We laugh, we sing and we engage with our customers and make the best out of each day. Even on bad days we still tell God, “Thank you!” We appreciate every morning we are able to open the shop because it’s another day of purpose and God’s promise.
Making It Work
Kimberly: Prayer is the glue needed to hold things together when you’re working together with your spouse daily.
Jeremy: We understand that this is how we make our living and that we have to put all issues aside to take care of our customers and our family. Just as we would on an 8-5 job, we never take our personal problems to work.
Success & Satisfaction
Kimberly: The flexibility and not having a boss is rewarding; we are able to attend functions with our kids, plus ministry and community events that we would not be able to with an 8-5 job. Also, we get to have lunch together every day
