When was the Town of Pike Road founded?

The community of Pike Road began with early settlers along the federal road. There were many agricultural industries located in the area which led to the need for a toll road for the delivery of goods to market. The road became known as Pike Road. This led to a center of commerce at the intersection of the railroad and the toll road. The community’s worship centers and services were located nearby. The Town of Pike Road was incorporated in 1997 by a dedicated group of citizens that loved their community. These key leaders developed ordinances and guiding principles for the Town from 1997 to 2004. The Town began formalizing and implementing the plans for the future in 2004. The adoption of the four Pillars (Planning, Services, Quality of Life and Education) for Pike Road allowed for the direction forward to be defined and the work to be strategic. The formation of the Pike Road School System began in 2010, schools opened in 2015 and campuses expanded to a total of four over the next ten years.
