Millbrook, AL — The City of Millbrook, along with its community partners, celebrated a major milestone today with the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for Phase II of the 17 Springs development. The project, which was announced nearly five years ago, continues to shape the future of recreation, tourism, and community engagement in Elmore County.
Phase II, known as the Fields at 17 Springs, showcases brand-new state-of-the-art facilities, including:
- Multiple baseball and softball fields
- A 5,500-capacity stadium
- An expansive event center
- High-quality playing fields
Local officials, community leaders, and families gathered to witness the unveiling of these facilities, which are expected to serve as a central hub for sports tournaments, special events, and community activities.
“Today a vision became reality! The opening of 17 Springs Phase II marks growth and opportunity for our area. Congratulations to the 17 Springs partners,” shared 17 Springs in a statement on social media.
Phase I of the project, which opened in August 2023, already introduced several key amenities, including:
- 12 tennis courts
- 12 pickleball courts
- 4 multi-purpose turf fields marked for soccer and football
These facilities have quickly become home to local youth sports leagues and several area high schools, with the football stadium designated as the new home field for Stanhope Elmore High School.
What’s Next for 17 Springs?
With Phase II now officially open, the city has already broken ground on Phase III, The Marketplace at 17 Springs. This next stage of development is designed to maximize commercial potential and further enrich the Highway 14 corridor. Current plans include:
- Two hotel spaces
- Eight restaurant spaces
- Eight commercial spaces
- One medical office building
According to the development team, the goal of The Marketplace is to attract both locals and visitors, creating a dynamic destination for dining, shopping, lodging, and recreational experiences.
