Alabama-based business owner selected for National Goldman Sachs Program

Montgomery, AL – Alabama-based business owner Brittney McCurry Wingate, Founder of The Region HR Consulting Firm, was selected to represent the City of Montgomery and the State of Alabama in Cohort 10 of the Goldman Sachs One Million Black Women: Black in Business program. Wingate was one of 300 women selected from thousands of applicants across the United States, and the only applicant selected from Alabama.

The Goldman Sachs Black in Business program is a free business education program designed for solopreneurs interested in creating jobs, opportunities, and economic growth in their communities. It offers 12 weeks of online learning combined with an all-expenses-paid, in-person experience at Goldman Sachs headquarters in New York. Each participant is paired with a strategic advisor who provides personalized guidance to accelerate their path to growth.

“I’m humbled and honored to represent Montgomery and the State of Alabama as a student in Cohort 10 of the Goldman Sachs Black in Business program. As the founder of the first minority-owned and women-led full-service HR company in Alabama, I am excited to utilize the skills, knowledge, education, and mentorship I receive in this program to transform the way my business provides human resources support to businesses in Alabama,” Wingate said.

The Goldman Sachs Black in Business program has enhanced growth for more than 2,000 minority small business owners since its inception in 2022. Within the first six months after graduating from the program, 57% of small business owners reported revenue growth, and 35% hired new employees.
