Montgomery, Alabama, June 07, 2023 – Jeremy Alphord and Sharon Baker are the new owners of Board & Brush Creative Studio in Montgomery, the #1 DIY studio workshop franchise in the country for 2023 in the annual rankings from Entrepreneur magazine. They purchased the franchise from Brandie Jeffries, who had owned the studio since 2019. Board & Brush Creative Studio is in the Peppertree Plaza Shopping Center at 7236 Halcyon Park Drive, Montgomery, Alabama, 36117.
Board & Brush offers various hands-on experiences from workshops, private parties, bridal showers, bachelorette gatherings, children’s birthday bashes, corporate events, and fundraisers. All projects are a flat fee and include everything you will need to leave with a beautiful, classic wooden piece to adorn your home. Sharon and Jeremy love the overarching concept of DIY — but are mainly drawn to providing a creative space for people to unwind and do beautiful projects! The world needs more positive connections; they hope to provide one avenue in the River Region where everyone is welcome.
Sharon has 25 years of healthcare experience. She is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and has worked extensively with the senior community in Montgomery. Her beloved family includes her husband, Kevin, son, Garrett, and three practically perfect poodles: Banks, Poppins, and Romeo.
Jeremy has 17 years of experience at Fortune 500 companies, including strategic marketing, branding, public relations, communications, creative services, website development, and business engineering. Originally from Dothan, Alabama, Jeremy has lived in various cities throughout the U.S. and settled in Montgomery in 2015.
When not working, his time is usually spent with his two French Bulldogs, Zoe and Winston. Since purchasing the franchise on April 1, 2023, they have introduced two new stain colors and added specialty workshops like glass etching, doormats, tote bags, pillows, and terrariums. All the workshops are instructor-led; no experience is necessary; all the materials are supplied, including the power tools, paint, and stencils. “Workshop attendees get to say they made it, and their personalized home décor items look professionally made, so you know they won’t be relegated to the back of a closet,” said Alphord. There are more than 800 designs to choose from – new ones are issued on the first of every month – complementing rustic and modern home styles.
“This is a place to get in touch with your creative side, and everyone has that, plus you’ll leave feeling empowered to take on that next DIY project,” shared Baker, adding, “It’s also something different than just dinner and drinks when you want to connect with friends and family.” Over the last three years, Board & Brush has hosted family get-togethers, birthday parties, girlfriends’ nights out, bachelorette and bridal parties, date nights, special events, team-building activities, and fundraisers for local charities.
“We are thrilled to be able to provide a space in Montgomery that celebrates creativity, diversity, and self-expression.”
