Birmingham, AL- Four Central Alabama Community College employees were recognized Sunday at the statewide ACCA Conference in Birmingham for their outstanding work and commitment to student success. Each college may select one employee in the administrator category, one employee in the support staff category and two employees in the faculty category.

Leslie Mitchell was selected as outstanding administrator, Sharon Humphrey, outstanding support staff, James Hurst, outstanding academic faculty, and Michael White, outstanding technical faculty.

Sharon Humphrey works in the financial aid office as a Financial Aid Assistant on the Alex City campus, Leslie Mitchell is a Student Services Specialist and ADA Coordinator on the Childersburg campus, James Hurst is a History Instructor and Michael White is an Electronics Technology Instructor.

“We are very blessed to have the best faculty and staff,” Jeff Lynn, president of CACC stated.

“I’m so proud of Sharon, Leslie, James, and Michael. They go above and beyond what is required to make sure our students have the best experience possible.”

All employees have the opportunity to nominate who they feel deserves to be recognized. Once the nominees in each category are narrowed down, employees have the opportunity to vote for one in each category.

“Our goal at CACC is to be better today than yesterday,” Lynn mentioned.

“I can’t thank all of our employees enough for their hard work and dedication every day to make CACC the best community college.”
