Caddell Construction opens fifth corporate office in Phoenix, AZ

Caddell Construction, a prominent global general contractor known for its comprehensive project management and construction services catering to both commercial and government clients, has announced the appointment of industry veteran Brian Sheehan as the head of their new Phoenix office. This move marks a significant milestone in Caddell\’s ongoing expansion efforts across the United States.

Taking on the role of Construction Executive, Sheehan brings with him valuable experience from the public sector, where he served as the design and construction division manager for Maricopa County for the past six years. The Phoenix office will serve as the operational center for Caddell\’s activities in the U.S. Western region, currently encompassing over eight million square feet of active projects (valued at $2 billion) spread across four states. The company is actively involved in diverse markets, including aviation, logistics, industrial projects (speculative and build-to-suit), data centers, K-12 education, higher education, and state and local government initiatives.

During his tenure at Maricopa County, Sheehan earned a reputation as a dynamic and adept problem solver while managing an annual budget of $250 million for nearly 300 properties in one of the nation\’s fastest-growing counties. Despite challenges such as material shortages and pricing fluctuations, he successfully guided numerous capital projects to completion, adapting swiftly to changing market conditions and leveraging strong community relationships. Some notable achievements include overseeing the $75 million renovation of the downtown Maricopa County Administration Building, leading the 109,000-square-foot expansion of the Southeast Regional Justice Center in Mesa, and spearheading the $100 million adaptive reuse of the abandoned jail on Madison Street in downtown Phoenix, transforming it into office space housing over 900 employees for the Maricopa County Attorney\’s Office.

Mac Caddell, President and COO of Caddell Construction, expressed excitement about having Brian on board, praising his leadership credentials and accomplishments. Caddell anticipates further growth in the Western U.S., and they believe Brian\’s versatile insights as both a general contractor and project owner will play a pivotal role in achieving their objectives and satisfying the needs of their present and future clients in the region.

Caddell\’s expansion comes at a time of remarkable growth, with the company generating more than $2.75 billion in project revenue across its entire portfolio since the start of 2020. The logistics and manufacturing markets have experienced particularly significant growth during this period, establishing Caddell as a key industry leader nationwide, well-positioned to capitalize on local demand. Phoenix\’s industrial market, in particular, ranks second in the nation for construction activity, with 47.5 million square feet of ongoing projects and over 81 million square feet of new industrial development delivered in the last five years, according to a recent report from Cushman & Wakefield.
