City of Prattville unveils $20 million renovation of Stanley-Jensen Stadium

City officials, community members, and local leaders gathered to celebrate the completion of the $20 million renovation of Stanley-Jensen Stadium, marking a new era for one of Prattville’s most iconic venues.

With a final project cost of $19.3 million, the City of Prattville has transformed the stadium into a modern facility ready to serve generations of student-athletes, sports fans, and community members. Owned by the city, Stanley-Jensen Stadium is home to the Prattville High School Lions and hosts events for other local schools, city leagues, and outside groups.

Prattville Mayor Bill Gillespie, Jr., and City Councilman Robert Strichik led the official ribbon cutting and public tour of the stadium, showcasing the many upgrades that now make the venue a premier destination for sporting events and community gatherings.

Key improvements include:

  • New home-side grandstands with the former aluminum home bleachers converted to the visitor side
  • Brand new locker rooms for both home and visiting teams
  • Updated bathrooms and concession stands
  • A modern scoreboard featuring a large video screen for enhanced fan experience

Funding for the project came from multiple sources, including proceeds from the renewed one-cent sales tax designated for city debt service. The city plans to issue bonds for the bulk of the financing, supplemented by available cash, federal COVID-19 relief funds, and a pledged $1.7 million contribution from the Autauga County Board of Education.
