Faulkner University – College of Health Sciences
5445 Atlanta Highway
Montgomery, AL 36109

More than a traditional ribbon cutting, the event celebrates the people, organizations, and businesses working together to strengthen Alabama’s disability community.

Since its launch, Uniquely You Central Alabama has focused on sharing inspiring stories of individuals with disabilities while helping families discover trusted local resources, specialized services, and businesses that understand and support their unique needs. Through engaging stories, the free monthly publication celebrates individuals in the disability community and serves as a bridge between families seeking help and the organizations making a difference throughout Central Alabama.

The celebration will feature several unique attractions for attendees of all ages.

Headlining the afternoon is Greg Marlow, who is traveling from East Tennessee to perform his hit single, “Everybody Smiles,” currently the #1 song on the Christian Country Countdown. Written in honor of his brother-in-law with autism, the song has inspired listeners across the country with its message that every life has value and every smile matters.

Guests will also have the opportunity to experience several interactive exhibits and community resources, including:

  • SNASY, Alabama’s first mobile, private, fully-equipped assistance stations to restore dignity for special needs families, veterans, and the elderly during major community events.
  • The SOUND mobile sensory activation vehicle from Auburn University’s College of Nursing, showcasing innovative healthcare education and training.
  • Sweet treats from A Little Something Extra Ice Cream Truck, operated by members of the disability community.

Following the ceremony, attendees are encouraged to stay for a community reception featuring refreshments from Bates House of Turkey and cookies from Lorraine’s Bake Shop, while visiting with community organizations, trusted service providers, and many of the individuals whose stories have been featured in the pages of Uniquely You Central Alabama.

“This celebration is really about the people and families we serve,” said Paul Hancock, publisher of Uniquely You Central Alabama. “Every issue introduces readers to remarkable individuals whose stories deserve to be celebrated while connecting families to organizations and businesses that can make a meaningful difference in their lives. We hope this event reflects the incredible community that has come together around that mission.”
