Faulkner University’s Legal Studies program receives ABA reapproval recommendation

MONTGOMERY, Ala. Faulkner University’s Legal Studies program has received reapproval from the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Standing Committee on Paralegals, affirming that the program continues to meet the standards set forth in the ABA Guidelines for the Approval of Paralegal Education Programs.

On April 1, 2025, the Standing Committee found that the program complies with the guidelines and announced it would recommend reapproval to the ABA House of Delegates during the association’s Annual Meeting in August.

Faulkner’s Legal Studies program, housed on the university’s Montgomery campus, prepares graduates to work as paraprofessionals, assisting attorneys and legal specialists in a variety of legal settings. The program’s ABA approval ensures that students receive a high-quality education aligned with industry expectations.

Students in the program may pursue either an Associate of Science in Legal Studies or a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies. Upon graduation, they receive both a degree in legal studies and an ABA-approved paralegal certificate.

In addition to preparing students for careers in the legal field, the program also serves as a strong foundation for those planning to apply to law school.

The ABA reapproval reflects Faulkner’s continued commitment to excellence in legal education and professional development.
