DOTHAN, ALA., MAY 11, 2023 — Remembered for his resilience and perseverance, Zachary Sizemore\’s legacy continues through five high school students who were awarded scholarships from Four Star Freightliner in his name.
Zachary worked for Four Star Freightliner in the accounting department in Dothan, Ala., but sadly lost his life to cancer in 2016. He was an inspiration to everyone around him because he was a fighter. The scholarship is a way for the company to honor his memory.
\”I had the privilege of working alongside Zack during his time with Four Star,\” recalls Four Star\’s CFO Scott Coleson. \”Zack was passionate about most things in his life, but he was definitely passionate about his work. I always admired that he didn’t hold back and faced things head-on.\”
Zachary, who earned his master’s degree, would be proud to know that he is helping others obtain their college education.
The 2023 scholarship recipients are:
Rebecca Salter, Tift County High School, Tifton, Ga.
Zoe Littlefield, Rehobeth High School, Rehobeth, Ala.
Lauren Shiver, Headland High School, Headland, Ala.
Lindsey Mainor, Tift County High School, Tifton, Ga.
Lily Hammon, Cottonwood High School, Cottonwood, Ala.
Each student will receive a one-time $1,000 award applicable to the college of their choosing. A total of 29 Zachary Sizemore Memorial Scholarships have been awarded since 2017.
