Faulkner’s Benefit Dinner is a longstanding tradition, a highly anticipated event in Montgomery and the River Region. Each year, the university invites nationally recognized personalities to speak, drawing a broad local audience. In the past, notable figures such as U.S. Presidents, international heads of state, athletes, astronauts, and journalists have graced the stage.

Candace Cameron Bure is a dynamic figure in the entertainment industry and a role model to women of all ages. An award-winning actress, producer, New York Times Best-Selling Author, and inspirational speaker, Bure is also a dedicated wife and mother of three adult children.

Bure’s career skyrocketed with her role as ‘D.J. Tanner’ on the iconic television series Full House, a character she reprised on the hit Netflix series Fuller House. She remains a beloved figure in families’ homes across the country. Her credits include her Emmy-nominated role as a host on The View and her role as ‘Summer Van Horn’ on Make It or Break It.

Beyond her acting career, Bure is a successful entrepreneur, CEO of CandyRock Entertainment, and the head of her self-titled clothing and lifestyle brands.

Known for her holiday romantic comedies and mysteries, Bure has starred in numerous TV movies, including A Shoe Addict’s Christmas, the Emmy-nominated The Heart of Christmas, and Christmas Under Wraps, which became Hallmark’s most-watched telecast, and her recent work includes the Ainsley McGregor Mystery Series on Great American Family. Bure won the Grace Award for TV and received the Best Family Television award at the 30th Annual Movieguide Awards in 2023. She now serves as the Chief Creative Officer for Great American Media, creating and directing original content.

She was recently awarded the Ronald Reagan Humanitarian Award from the National House of Hope.

As a prolific writer, Bure has authored eight books, including three children’s books. Her book Dancing Through Life: Steps of Courage and Conviction was inspired by her time on Dancing with the Stars.
