The Dexter Avenue King Legacy Foundation is launching the Historical Opportunities Preservation Efforts (HOPE) project for the Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church and the Dexter Parsonage Museum.
HMMA donated $204,000 to the Dexter Avenue King Legacy Foundation for structural and cosmetic repairs to the museum.
The museum was the home of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his family while he was pastor of the Dexter Avenue Baptist church from 1954 to 1960. Representatives from Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA) presented a check to the Dexter Avenue Legacy Foundation at the Dexter Parsonage Museum on June 26, 2024.
