Montgomery, AL — July 12, 2025 — As part of its ongoing commitment to community impact and in celebration of its 100th year, the Junior League of Montgomery (JLM) partnered with the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) for a “Done in a Day” project focused on revitalizing the Museum’s ArtWorks interactive children’s space.
Twenty JLM volunteers gathered at the museum to clean, refresh, and restore key components of the popular educational exhibit. The team sanitized toys, blocks, and art supplies; applied fresh paint to children’s drawing horses; repaired felt boards used in the interactive art station; and mended quilt squares and cut new fabric for the hands-on quilting activity.
This special project was part of JLM’s Done in a Day initiative, which provides concentrated, hands-on support to local nonprofits. MMFA is one of JLM’s 2024–2025 Community Partners and a proud recipient of a JLM Community Grant. These grants are made possible through funds raised by JLM’s signature community events, including Holiday Market and College & Career Fair.
“ArtWorks has been a creative cornerstone for children in our community for years,” said Courtney Curenton-Baker, JLM President. “This partnership helps ensure the space remains vibrant and inspiring for the next generation of young artists.” The Junior League of Montgomery is proud to support organizations like MMFA that share a commitment to enriching the lives of children and families in the River Region.
