MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama (GSSA) held its eighth annual Leading Ladies Awards Brunch on, Tuesday, June 18 and recognized the Leading Workplace For Women. The Leading Ladies awards recognize outstanding women who are making an impact in their community, as well as organizations that are advancing women in the workforce. Leading Ladies also serves as an important fundraising event for GSSA to continue to offer programming for the next generation of female leaders.
GSSA named exploreMedia as the Leading Workplace for Women Award recipient for 2024. exploreMedia is female-owned and boasts a 100-percent female team. Lead by Founder, Pam Mashburn, these women work together to deliver a comprehensive suite of solutions—including digital marketing, graphic design, website development, social media management, media consulting and more—to meet clients’ diverse needs.
This year GSSA recognized six outstanding women: Stephanie Bryan, Tribal Chair and CEO for the Poarch Band of Creek Indians; Lindsay Cline, Gulf Coast Workforce Lead for the United States Navy’s Submarine Industrial Base; Allison Ingram, Of Counsel with Ball, Ball, Matthews & Novak; Marché Johnson, Montgomery City Councilor, District 3; Azzie Oliver, Chief Deputy District Attorney for Montgomery County; Amanda Salazar, Vice President, Communications & Membership for Manufacture Alabama.
Associate Justice, Sarah H. Stewart, of the Alabama Supreme Court, gave the keynote address, referencing the Girl Scout Law to highlight the values that are central to the Girl Scout Mission.
Stephanie Bryan was named the Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama 2024 Leading Lady. In 2014, Chair Bryan became the first woman elected to serve as the Tribal Chair and CEO of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. She is deeply committed to providing quality healthcare, education, and employment opportunities to Poarch Tribal members, as well as citizens of the larger Atmore community.
