Montgomery Whitewater Park announces 2025 events, concerts and festivals

Montgomery, Ala. – Montgomery Whitewater Park, the South’s premier new outdoor adventure destination, has announced an action-packed roster of events for 2025. The award- winning park’s thrilling paddling experiences, recently expanded array of land-based attractions and variety of festivals, competitions and free concerts offer year-round entertainment for guests of all ages and skill levels.

“Whether you visit Montgomery Whitewater Park to enjoy quality time with your family and friends or come to pursue your dreams as a professional athlete, we are proud to be the place that people from all around the region and beyond choose to get outside and have fun,” said Chief Executive Officer, Jeffrey Gustin. “From our wide variety of events to the expansion of our trails and new climbing and zipline experiences, we have something to enjoy all year long and invite everyone to experience it for themselves.”

The following events will take place in 2025:

2025 Season Opening Events – March 15
Young athletes, ages 6-10, will run, bike and paddle duckies (inflatable kayaks) provided by Montgomery Whitewater Park on the flatwater pond to compete for the Lil’ Tri Champion title. Participants partner with an adult for the water portion. Participants should bring their own bikes for this competition. Later in the day, The Lucky Ducky Ducky X and Float Race will deliver thrilling water competitions for participants of all skill levels, featuring the crowd-favorite Floatie X and Ducky X races down the Competition Channel. With live music and fun for all, it is the perfect way to kick off spring.

Pan American Games, International Canoe Federation World Rankings Race – March 21 – 23
World-class athletes will once again take to the rapids at Montgomery Whitewater Park in a battle to set the pace in international rankings for the year in canoe slalom and kayak X. This is a chance to see the best in the world compete for their spot in a year-long competition to determine the best canoe and kayak athletes. Get a sneak peek at the athletes in training at the park on select weekends in February and March.

Jackson Kayak Fun Day – March 29
Dreamboats Kayaks’ boat builder Mason Hargrove and members of the Jackson Kayak professional paddling team invite paddlers to join them for instruction and a freestyle clinic on the course. Hargrove holds multiple titles including Junior World Champion, Vice World Cup Champion, USA Cadet, Junior and two-time Senior Champion. The event is free to participate in and open to the public.

All Forward Corporate Raft Race – May 10
Businesses, clubs and corporations from around the state will take on the ultimate team-building challenge of whitewater rafting as six-person crews compete for the title of “Fastest Whitewater Rafting Team in Alabama.” Teams are partnered with a raft guide, meaning rafting experience is not required. Participants and guests can enjoy a day of live music performances, tasty food, cold drinks and a variety of on-site activities.
 
Memorial Day 5K and Lil’ Tri – May 26
Summer fun officially arrives with an energizing 5K through the park and a refreshing race for kids ages 6-14, who will run, bike and paddle duckies on the flatwater pond to compete for the Montgomery Whitewater Lil’ Tri Champion title. Bikes are bring-your-own and boats are provided. Participants also receive a T-shirt to tie-dye in the Kids’ Lot following the race, where they can enjoy other kids’ activities and music.

Summer Solstice – June 20 – 21
Celebrate the change of seasons on the longest day of the year with live music, sunset rafting adventures and festive drink specials.

Fourth of July at Montgomery Whitewater – July 4
In celebration of Independence Day, the park will host an array of family-friendly activities, including paddling competitions.

Alabama Triple Crown – Aug. 23
The Alabama Triple Crown brings thrilling freestyle kayaking competitions, perfect for spectators. Enjoy the action with live music in the evening and special-event camping for an unforgettable outdoor experience.

Back to School Bash – Aug. 8 – 10
Before heading back to class, enjoy a weekend of discounted fun across the park including paddling to the Canopy Ridge Traverse, bike rentals and more.

Golden Hour Festival – Aug. 31 – Sept. 1
Wave goodbye to summer with live entertainment, a kayak cross competition, delicious food, whitewater thrills and family-friendly activities like a 5K run and a kids’ Lil’ Tri triathlon.

Build Your Own Boat Festival – Oct. 12
One of the park’s most popular spectator events returns, inviting crafty and adventurous souls design and build their own boats and take on the rapids. Not only will the winner have to cross the finish line first, but they will also have to navigate (and survive) the whitewater competition channel. Brunch at Eddy’s and a Golden Hour Concert round out the day.

Cousin Eddy’s 5K, Polar Plunge and Grinch Chaser 1-Mile Fun Run – Dec. 13
Cousin Eddy’s 5K, Grinch Chaser Kids’ Fun Run and Polar Plunge promise a festive day full of holiday fun for the whole family. All race sign-ups include access to the Polar Plunge, where participants can take a thrilling dip in the chilly water.

Brunch with Santa – Dec. 14
Guests can enjoy Brunch with Santa at Montgomery Whitewater, featuring delicious bites, a visit from Santa for photos and a DJ spinning all the Christmas hits.

Après Ski – Dec. 19
The winter Campfire Music Series steps up to the concert stage to create the ultimate après ski hangout. The ice rink will be buzzing, fires cracking and tunes grooving, creating a perfect hangout for the whole crew.

Seasonal and Year-Round Series:

Campfire Music Series – Fri. and Sat. nights, Jan. 3 – Feb. 15
Guests can gather around fire pits to roast s’mores, skate on the outdoor ice rink and take in the twinkling holiday lights—all while enjoying live music. Paired with delicious food and festive drinks from Eddy’s, the park’s on-site restaurant, it’s an unforgettable way to spend a cozy winter evening.

Broomball and Burger Nights – Wed. nights, Nov. 2025 – Feb. 2026
Montgomery Whitewater has the remedy for winter cabin fever with a friendly pick-up game of Broomball on the ice rink each Wednesday starting at 6:30 p.m. Games are open to players of all skill levels and the park will provide skates, helmet and broomball equipment.

The Get Down Concert Series – Saturdays, Mar. 15 – May 3 and Sundays, Sept. 7 – Oct. 26
Nationally touring and emerging artists, many with roots in the region, will take the main stage at the park each Saturday in the spring and Sunday evenings in the fall, providing the perfect soundtrack to rafting and outdoor fun or a sunset happy hour. Wednesday Night Ducky Club and Burger Night – Wed. nights, Apr. 2 – Fall 2025
Wednesday Night Ducky Club offers a relaxed whitewater experience perfect for beginners and intermediates. Enjoy self-guided kayaking or ducky rides on low-flow rapids while savoring a delicious burger at Eddy’s for a fun midweek outing.

Patio Music Series – Friday nights, April 4 – May 2, Friday and Saturday nights, May 9 – Jul. 26
The Patio Music Series brings live entertainment to Montgomery Whitewater on Friday nights in spring and both Friday and Saturday nights throughout summer. Guests can relax with great music, delicious food and refreshing drinks while enjoying the vibrant outdoor atmosphere.
