MONTGOMERY ZOO (Montgomery, AL): The Montgomery Zoo is thrilled to invite the community to its inaugural Howl-O-Ween bash. This family friendly event held on October 31 from 10am-3pm will be filled with festive fun, community engagement, and seasonal activities for guests of all ages.
Howl-O-Ween welcomes the River Region natives to the zoo for a safe and exciting daytime Halloween experience. Guests can enjoy interactive “Tent or Treat” stations provided by our local partners, face painting, hay rides, pumpkin decorating, and more. The costume contest will be held around 12pm noon for attendees that want to participate. Winners will receive prizes provided by Zoo partners.
“We can’t wait to bring the Halloween spirit back to the Zoo,” says Bailey Klepac, Marketing and Public Relations Manager for the Montgomery Zoo. “We’ve missed celebrating Halloween with our community over the last few years, and we believe Howl-O-Ween will be a fun, family-friendly way for children and parents to enjoy the spooky holiday during the day before heading out for more trick-or-treating that evening.”
The Montgomery Zoo is grateful for the community partners helping make the first-ever Howl-O-Ween possible, including the Alabama Department of Environmental Management, Alabama Herb Society, Alabama Nature Center, Aim Academy of Pike Road, Central Alabama Aging Consortium, Dixie Lions Club, Domino’s Pizza, Johnson Misfit Rescue, Level Up School of Innovation, Montgomery City-County Public Library, Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, Montgomery Pride United, Montgomery Zoo Education Department, and Rosa Parks Museum.
Food trucks available during Howl-O-Ween include Top Notch BBQ, Woody’s Italian Ice, Taste Buds, and Pckles&Potatoes.
For many in the River Region, Howl-O-Ween marks the return of Halloween festivities at the zoo. The zoo previously hosted the popular annual Zoo Boo event, which was discontinued during COVID-19. With Howl-O-Ween, the Montgomery Zoo is excited to once again provide the community with a fun, family-focused Halloween tradition while introducing new activities and partnerships.
Guests are encouraged to wear costumes and enjoy a day of Halloween fun alongside their favorite animals at the Montgomery Zoo.
Admission for Howl-O-Ween is the same as the Zoo’s general admission, $19 for adults and $15 for kids ages 3-12. Members are free. Additional services like hay ride, food trucks, face painting, and other attractions are an additional cost.
