Prattville’s Newton Park pickleball courts are officially open

The city’s Parks and Recreation department announced that the pickleball courts at Prattville’s Newton Park officially opened for play.

Officials announced the new addition to the park in June. The park’s five original tennis courts have been converted into 14 pickleball courts with alleys and benches for spectators.

The expansion gives Newton Park a total of 18 pickleball courts.

Prattville Parks and Recreation says construction on five new tennis courts will be begin in the fall.
