The Montgomery Half Marathon & 5K brought thousands to downtown Montgomery and raised money for local charities

Montgomery, AL – Friday, March 8, 2024 – The 14th annual Montgomery Half Marathon & 5K brought more than 1,400 runners to downtown Montgomery this past weekend and raised more than $29,000 for local charities.

The annual event brought thousands to downtown Montgomery, with race participants bringing friends and family to the Expo and on race day. This year, the race brought runners from 39 different states and 4 different countries.

The Expo on Friday included local vendors where runners and the public could browse and shop. On Saturday, the half marathon and 5K took runners through Oak Park, Old Cloverdale, and historic downtown Montgomery, and ended in the outfield of Riverwalk Stadium.

The Montgomery Half & 5K not only positively impacts the Montgomery economy but also local charities as well. This year, the charity race raised more than $28,000 for local charities, including Enlisted Heritage Hall, Life on Wheels, Child Protect, Mercy House, and Reality & Truth, just to name a few.
