MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Montgomery Zoo is preparing to unveil a major new addition to its campus with the opening of a $4.2 million entrance complex designed to enhance the experience for guests from the moment they arrive.
The new complex marks a significant investment in the Zoo and provides an updated, more welcoming entry point for visitors. The project is part of the Montgomery Zoo’s continued efforts to improve its facilities and create an engaging experience for families, visitors and animal lovers throughout the River Region.
The entrance complex includes updated amenities designed to make visiting the Zoo more convenient and enjoyable. The new facility also provides a refreshed first impression for guests as they enter one of Montgomery’s most popular attractions.
Construction on the new Admissions and Gift Shop complex began in June 2025, with the project representing another milestone in the Zoo’s ongoing growth and development. The Montgomery Zoo has continued to expand and improve its exhibits and visitor amenities over the years, building on its 40-acre campus and collection of animals representing species from around the world.
The new entrance complex reflects the Zoo’s commitment to providing a quality experience for its guests while supporting its broader mission of connecting people with wildlife and encouraging conservation and education.
