Montgomery, AL – The Pivot Path, INC is pleased to announce that it distributed 250 refurbished laptops donated by AT&T and Human-I-T.
This effort is part of the AT&T Connected Learning® initiative to help address the digital divide through internet accessibility, affordability and safe adoption. AT&T is committing $5 billion to help 25 million people get and stay connected to high- speed Internet by 2030.
The Pivot Path worked closely with its partner agencies such as Sowing Seeds of Hope in Perry County, City of St. Jude in Montgomery County, Salute Selma, Inc, Alabama Micro Enterprise, and The Family Support Center in Elmore County and past graduates from The Pivot Path Program, just to name a few to identify individuals to receive the laptops. Collaborations with organizations like AT&T and Human-IT create opportunities for youth and families to increase digital literacy.
After the laptops have been distributed, Human-IT staff will reach out to the families/individuals to provide technical support and address digital literacy need ensure the connection is working and understood by household members. Recipients will have access to a call center supported by Human-IT that provides ongoing technical support and assistance so they can get connected and stay connected. Additionally, each Human-IT comes with a one-year device warranty and one year of tech support.
All Windows-based laptops will come with Microsoft Office Software pre-loaded with no expiration date.
