Trenholm State Community College & Baptist Health partner for LPN Immediate Impact Program

Montgomery, AL (May 1, 2023) – Trenholm State Community College’s educational and clinical partnership with Baptist Health is expanding with a new Licensed Practical Nursing program – called LPN Immediate Impact program.

Dr. Brad Fricks Executive Vice President and Vice President of Instructional Services at Trenholm State Community College said, “We are thrilled to partner with Baptist Health to develop this innovative LPN program. The collaboration is a great example of the College and industry partners working together to address the workforce development needs of our community and to provide training for students that lead to high-demand, high-wage jobs. I am grateful for the support of Baptist Health and its administration in seeing this project realized.”

Cohorts enrolled in the LPN Immediate Impact program will receive didactic instruction and clinical education within the Institute for Patient Safety and Medical Simulation Building along with other affiliated Baptist Health facilities. Through the Immediate Impact program, Baptist Health has committed to providing new career opportunities for those enrolled.

“This initiative is expanding already solid healthcare industry, educational, and community partnerships between Trenholm State and Baptist Health.  The most exciting aspect of this authentic collaboration is the positive impact it will have on our students, healthcare industry, and community.  Together we will be ensuring that our students have expanded opportunities while increasing the number of qualified and skilled nurses into the workforce,” said Dr. Tracie M. Carter, Dean of Health Sciences at Trenholm State Community College.

“Baptist Health has maintained a strong partnership with Trenholm for many years and we are proud to expand our education-to-employment opportunities through this new LPN program, said Russell Tyner, Chief Executive Officer and President of Baptist Health. The sustainability of existing healthcare services and growth of future opportunities is highly contingent on having appropriately trained candidates and we know we can expect that with Trenholm students,” continued Tyner.

“Being able to participate in an LPN partnership of this type is an incredible opportunity,” said Judi Miller, Chief Learning Officer of Baptist Health. “We are excited to be a part of this program and look forward to being able to teach these students and in turn, better serve our patients,” continued Miller.

The application process for the fall 2023 Cohort will begin on Monday, May 1and close on Thursday, June 1. The application process is online at www.trenholmstate.edu/immediate-impact-program.
