UNITED IS THE WAY WE THRIVE: River Region United Way Launches 2026 Campaign

Led by the organization’s first all-women Campaign Co-Chair duo, River Region United Way is officially launching its 2026 fundraising campaign, United is the Way We Thrive, with a community celebration bringing together local business leaders, community partners, volunteers, and supporters. This event will be held at The Tipping Point in Hampstead on August 13 at 5:00 PM.

This special event will feature the premiere of River Region United Way’s 2026 campaign video, the introduction of the Campaign Co-Chairs leading this year’s effort, and the announcement of the organization’s $2.2 million fundraising goal. Six outstanding Pacesetters will also be recognized for the work they did to set the tone for this year’s campaign. Throughout the program, you will hear inspiring stories of local impact and learn how your support advances youth opportunity, healthy communities, financial security, and community resiliency across the River Region.

The need for support across our community remains prevalent with a growing number of households in Alabama being reported below the ALICE (Asset, Limited, Income, Constrained, Employed) threshold. These are families and individuals who are working but unable to afford the necessities of housing, childcare, food, transportation, health care, or technology. In fact, 50.2% of all households in the River Region fall below that threshold, highlighting the significant need for continued community investment. Funds raised during the campaign will support River Region United Way’s 26 community partners and the programs they provide that help these families and individuals to thrive.

“We are honored to invite you to the launch of River Region United Way’s campaign and the introduction of this year’s theme, United is the Way We Thrive. This theme reflects a simple but powerful truth that when leaders unite around a shared purpose, lives are transformed and communities flourish. Together, we can build a future where every person has the opportunity to thrive.” Jannah Bailey, President & CEO

“Dr. Ingram and I are proud to lead this effort alongside President & CEO, Jannah Bailey. We hope you will join us as we celebrate the beginning of a campaign that will inspire generosity, strengthen our community, and demonstrate what is possible when we lead together. Thank you for your extraordinary commitment to the River Region community. We look forward to celebrating with you as we launch another year of impact.” Charisse Stokes, Campaign Co-Chair
