Montgomery, Alabama—HandsOn River Region will honor outstanding community volunteers at the 51st annual Volunteer of the Year Awards on Thursday, April 24th, at 5:30 p.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1728 S Hull St, Montgomery, AL 36104.
This year’s awards, presented during National Volunteer Week, are given to outstanding individuals and groups whose efforts have positively impacted the River Region. “The volunteers we recognize each year are community heroes,” said HandsOn River Region Executive Director Tasha Cooper. “Their generosity and dedication are awe-inspiring, and the nonprofit community could not survive without these community heroes.”

- Youth Volunteer

“For 51 years, HandsOn River Region has had the honor to illuminate community-minded individuals and groups in the River Region. Nominees can include an individual who dedicates hours to your organization, a Junior Board who’s spicing things up for your mission, a young person or youth group who has given their free time to give back, and much more,” said Ms. Cooper. “Our community is more resilient thanks to these remarkable people and their selfless acts of service. All are welcome on April 24th to honor and celebrate the individuals and groups whose service is a gift to our community!”
