If you’ve ever had a big idea for a business in Montgomery—or already own one—you know the journey from dream to reality is rarely a straight line. Somewhere between the vision board and the grand opening, there’s paperwork to file, licenses to secure, capital to find and more than a few moments where you wonder if it’s all worth it.
That’s exactly why Access Montgomery and the Small Business One-Stop Shop (SBOSS) exist: to make sure you don’t have to navigate that path alone.
Access Montgomery: The City’s Commitment In Action
Access Montgomery is the City of Montgomery’s official small business initiative, led by the Department of Economic Development. Created in alignment with the Mayor’s commitment to making Montgomery one of the Southeast’s most supportive and attractive cities for entrepreneurs, it serves as the central hub for small business growth and opportunity.
Through Access Montgomery, the City is creating a clear entry point for business owners—connecting them to the resources, partnerships and opportunities they need to start, grow and thrive. It’s about transforming fragmented support into a connected, collaborative ecosystem where small businesses can flourish. Access Montgomery is where your journey begins.
SBOSS: Born From City Investment
Under the Access Montgomery umbrella, SBOSS–the Small Business One-Stop Shop–is the hands-on resource hub for entrepreneurs. It was launched thanks to an investment of the City’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, with the goal of making it easier than ever for Montgomery’s small business owners to access the help they need.
At SBOSS, you can:
- Get one-on-one business coaching to refine your business plan, troubleshoot challenges or scale operations.
- Navigate licensing and permitting with guidance from people who know the city’s processes inside and out.
