Opening Doors to Capital: SBOSS and Hope Credit Union Partner for Small Business Growth

If you’ve ever tried to grow a business, you know that one of the toughest challenges is finding the right kind of funding. Whether it’s purchasing equipment, hiring staff or expanding operations, access to capital is often the difference between a good idea staying on paper and becoming a thriving business.

That’s exactly why SBOSS has partnered with Hope Credit Union—to make sure small business owners in Montgomery have clear pathways to the financial resources they need to succeed.

The Montgomery Small Business Access to Capital Program

Hope Credit Union, in partnership with the City of Montgomery, has launched the Montgomery Small Business Access to Capital Program. This initiative provides entrepreneurs with lending solutions tailored to their needs, while also connecting them with the guidance and tools to be successful borrowers.

The program isn’t about “free money” or quick fixes—it’s about preparing business owners to responsibly access capital that can fuel their growth. And when an applicant doesn’t qualify for this program, Hope offers a wide range of other lending options designed to meet entrepreneurs where they are.

“At SBOSS, our role is to help small business owners prepare and position themselves for opportunities like this,” says Kenneth Penn, SBOSS Operations and Finance Manager. “We walk alongside entrepreneurs through the paperwork, planning and financial steps so they can approach lenders with confidence.”

Why It Matters

Montgomery’s entrepreneurs are building more than businesses—they’re creating jobs, strengthening neighborhoods and fueling innovation. By providing both access to capital and the technical assistance to navigate it, SBOSS and Hope Credit Union are working together to remove barriers and open doors.

And beyond this program, SBOSS keeps the pipeline of opportunities flowing through its Dream Makers Hub, where entrepreneurs can find quarterly updates on grants, financial resources and training opportunities.

“When small businesses have access to capital, Montgomery’s future gets even brighter.”
