When did you start your current job?

What is your main role at your company?

My primary role at MGM includes directing the overall communications strategy of MGM and directing the strategic and tactical efforts of increasing the brand and visibility of MGM through marketing and public relations efforts. In addition, I am responsible for developing a public relations strategy, including proactive media relations, and serving as the organizational spokesperson for the media.

What is your number one career accomplishment or highlight?

My number one career accomplishment is wrapping all my talents into one skill set. I have nearly 15 years of combined experience as a journalist, correspondent reporter, communications, media relations, and marketing specialist. My focus has always been on media relations, as it has been one of my constant interests. My experiences in my previous roles have shaped me to have a better understanding and passion for information and know how to communicate effectively through dialogue.

How are you involved in your community?

I am involved in numerous ways with the community, including being a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Beta Nu Omega Chapter, where I serve on the board of directors at the Ivy Foundation by working to mobilize resources that help to strengthen and advance the quality of life throughout the Montgomery community. In addition, I host a “Slay Bag Giveaway” for HBCU first-year students; the initial concept for the giveaway came after identifying that college women needed essential supplies before starting their first semester as college students. The bags were filled with everyday grooming items, including toothbrushes, hair brushes, feminine supplies, deodorant, and other items that helped ease the transition of college stress.

What is your key to success?

My key to success is always to be willing to learn by experience, make meaningful connections, and focus on the here and now.
