Chance Jones will soon be joining our college as Executive Director of Foundation and Campus Operations. We are excited to welcome him to our team and look forward to the leadership and experience he will bring to this important new role.
In this role, Chance will provide leadership and assist with coordination of the newly established College Foundation, college marketing, and public relations efforts, while also overseeing operations at the Childersburg Campus and Talladega Center.
Chance brings an extensive background in economic development, strategic partnerships, business growth, and community engagement. Most recently, he served as Executive Director of the Clay County Economic Development Council, where he worked closely with state agencies and local leaders to advance workforce development, housing, tourism, and industrial growth initiatives.
Prior to this role, Chance held leadership positions with NASCAR and Talladega Superspeedway, serving as Vice President of Sales and Director of Business Development & Sales. In these roles, he managed corporate partnerships, hospitality programs, strategic business development initiatives, and high-performing sales teams while supporting more than 160 corporate partners and large-scale fan engagement experiences.
He also served in leadership roles with UAB Athletics, where he helped achieve record sponsorship revenue growth, expanded booster membership, and developed innovative revenue-generating partnerships. In the mid-2000s, he taught high school mathematics while coaching football and tennis at Spain Park High School.
Chance earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education in Mathematics, along with a Master of Business Administration and a master’s degree in Sports Administration and Facility Management from Ohio University.
