For Brittney Jones-Dabney, serving as Communications and Marketing Manager for Montgomery Regional Airport is about far more than promoting an airport, it’s about telling the story of a gateway that connects the River Region to opportunities around the world. From marketing and public relations to community engagement, brand management and passenger experience, Dabney’s work is as dynamic as the travelers she serves. Beyond the airport, she brings that same passion for connection and creating meaningful experiences to her family, community and the many ways she inspires and mentors others.

I’ve always loved bringing people together through storytelling, strategic communication and meaningful experiences. My career has allowed me to combine creativity with purpose, and I discovered that airports are so much more than transportation hubs. They’re economic engines, community gateways and places where life-changing journeys begin. Being able to help shape how people experience Montgomery while supporting economic growth made this the perfect fit for me.
Helping Hand:
Giving back is one of the most meaningful parts of my life. I serve as an advisor to the Tuskegee University Royal Court, where I mentor student leaders in professional development, public speaking, community engagement and leadership. I also enjoy mentoring young communications professionals and interns, helping them build confidence and discover their own strengths. Through my work at the airport, I strive to create community-centered programs that inspire future aviation professionals, support local nonprofits and make the airport a welcoming place for everyone.
Point of Pride:
Professionally, I’m incredibly proud of helping transform the way Montgomery Regional Airport connects with our community through innovative marketing campaigns and strategic partnerships that have earned national recognition. Being elected to the ACI-NA Marketing, Communications & Customer Experience Steering Group was also a significant milestone because it gives me the opportunity to represent smaller airports on a national stage.
Meaningful Mentors:
I’ve been fortunate to have incredible mentors who challenged me to think bigger, trust my abilities and embrace leadership opportunities before I thought I was ready. My family has always been my foundation, reminding me to stay humble, work hard and never lose sight of who I am. I’ve also learned something valuable from every person I’ve worked with. Both the lessons learned from successes and challenges have shaped me into the leader I am today.
Future-Focused:
I hope to continue growing into executive leadership while helping shape the future of airport communications and passenger experience. I want to be a voice for small and medium-sized airports across the country, showing that innovation isn’t determined by size. Beyond my career, I’m excited about growing my entrepreneurial ventures that celebrate creativity, hospitality and bringing people together in meaningful ways.
Fulfilled:
Knowing that the work we do has a direct impact on our community is incredibly rewarding. Every new route, partnership, campaign, or improvement creates opportunities for families, businesses, students and visitors. It’s fulfilling to know that our efforts help people reconnect with loved ones, explore new places and bring economic growth back home.
Influential Figures:
My faith, my family and remembering why I started. I try to focus on serving others rather than chasing recognition. At the end of the day, success means very little if you aren’t making a positive difference in the lives of those around you.
