Meet the owner of Color Copy Shop, LLC and The Exam Center A+ education and business proctoring, Marietta Kouns. She runs the business with the help of graphic designer, Rachel Davis.
HOW DID COLOR COPY SHOP START?
I had a desire to open a small community-orientated print shop which has the ability to help people bring their vision to life from birth announcements and wedding invitations to logo creation and business branding. I purchased the business from the previous owners and renamed it to more appropriately describe what we do. We started operating under the new name in October 2016. Rachel joined the team in 2017 as a graphic designer.

At the Color Copy Shop, we love to delight our customers with the freshest designs, keepsake options for every occasion, and impeccable customer service. We will spend one-on-one time with you to help bring your vision to reality. We will work within your budget to meet your needs. We guide our customers to best tell their unique story through personalization of every gift, invitation, and more. We carefully listen to the details of their lives as it relates to this keepsake and apply our creative services. We strive to be a one-stop shop for all precious keepsakes and deliver fast results.
HOW HAS BUSINESS BEEN?
It was tough at the beginning. We needed to improve by getting better equipment; replacing outdated computers for test takers; buying more advanced commercial-grade printers among some of the basics. Then came COVID and the opportunity to proctor from home. In addition to the Millbrook location, The Exam Center A+ also supports 20 agents working from home proctoring exams.
WHAT’S THE SECRET TO YOUR SUCCESS?
First and foremost, we believe that listening to our customers as they describe what they need is the start. Then, we owe our success to a combination of focus on detail when doing the work/project and staying motivated towards reaching a determined goal. Lastly, rather than thinking we have all the answers, we stay focused by asking our customers along the way for feedback to help us give them what they want.
WHAT’S ON THE HORIZON?
We will continue to expand what we can do in the CCS, such as our recent addition of personalized door hangers for salespeople and just anyone who wants an unusual gift. We are also expanding our proctoring footprint beyond in-person testing to more online proctoring and job interviews. Finally, we’ve recently started a fingerprinting service for job applicants and those seeking security clearances.
